Delight - 40 Days of Prayer and Blessings

Day 7 – (19th of January)
Prayer for your 10+ men (Psalm 40)
  • Turn to them and hear their cry
  • Set their feet on a rock and give them a firm place to stand
  • Create in them the desire to do Your will
  • Put Your laws within their hearts
Prayer for yourself:
We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

The word and concept of Delight has been on my mind this week.  First because it was one of the things we prayed on 1/17/2012 Psalm 37, and then it was the word we were praying in my weekly prayer group yesterday morning.  Today as I was flipping to Psalm 40 in my very new bible today, I opened to Psalm 112, and there was the definition for DELIGHT!
(Does anyone remember the band Dee Lite?  Groove is in the heart!  Cousin Elizabeth - you will love it!)

In Hebrew there are several words and definitions for the word "delight."

In Psalm 37, the Hebrew word is Anag, and it has a very feminine, alluring definition:

1) to be soft, be delicate, be dainty
a) (Pual) to be delicate
b) (Hithpael)
1) to be of dainty habit, be pampered
2) to be happy about, take exquisite delight
3) to make merry over, make sport of

In Psalm 40:8, " I delight to do Your will, O my God,
         And Your law is within my heart.”

The Hebrew word is Chafets, and it means:
  • To be delighted in something;
  • To take pleasure in;
  • To be bent or inclined toward;
  • To cherish;
  • To be favorably disposed toward someone;
  • To love and desire.

To the prayers above I add that all of us, men and women, will delight in the Lord that He will give us the desires of our hearts; and that we will delight in His Word; and we will delight in the person God brings into our lives to join us in Kingdom Marriage!

AMEN!
Expecting to be amazed ~
